Second Order

Second Order works on learning under conditions of ambiguity — where goals shift, evidence is partial, and action changes the system being observed.

Many organisations invest heavily in learning activities, yet struggle to learn in ways that meaningfully shape decisions, practice, or direction. We are interested in why this happens, and what it takes to learn differently.

Our work focuses on learning systems rather than isolated learning outputs: the conditions, pathways, and cycles through which learning is produced, taken up, resisted, or lost.

Second Order develops and applies frameworks, practices, and collaborative learning processes with organisations, networks, and initiatives working in complex and uncertain environments.
